The University of Miami Miller School of Medicine Graduate Studies Program is committed to advancing groundbreaking scientific exploration that will transform the future of medicine and health care delivery.
Our program reflects the multicultural, international appeal of the city from which we take our name and offers our students training opportunities found nowhere else in the United States. Our research and clinical work draw upon the rich geography and culture of the Caribbean, South America and Central America, and our students come from all over the world for the unique training this diversity affords.
As one of the nation’s leading scientific institutions, the Miller School of Medicine is on the forefront of groundbreaking research. Our graduate students are at the heart of it all, working side-by-side with leading scientists in the fields of cancer, aging, immunology, and other nationally acclaimed specialties. Our program is tailored to meet the evolving needs of the global scientific community and shape you as a leader in your chosen field.
The Miller School is the No. 1 NIH-funded medical school in Florida, and we continue to grow. Our focus is to increase NIH funding to enable our students to advance discovery and enjoy a vibrant learning environment.
We also teach our students how to write competitive grant applications and provide administrative support so they can focus on the exciting research that takes place every day in our laboratories and is regularly published in high-tier journals.
Technology is an integral part of any graduation program, and we’ve partnered with the renowned University of Miami Institute for Data Science & Computing program to develop a bioinformatics, data science and computational biology initiative that provides our students with the expertise to accommodate the “big data” analysis needs of contemporary research.
Additionally, as your interests and passions coalesce into a professional road map, we provide the resources you need to pursue and thrive in the many rewarding career paths training at our institution offers.
As a fellow academician and researcher, I wake up every day excited to work for an institution dedicated to engaging education, leading-edge science and community service. The future of science is being defined, and refined, every day, right here on our campus in the heart of Miami. If you want to tackle the world’s most pressing medical issues and work on the leading edge of science technology, join us at the University of Miami Miller School of Medicine.
