Research and Shadowing

M.S. in Biomedical Sciences

Research and Shadowing Experiences

Each student in the MiBS Program will have the opportunity to participate in clinical or physician shadowing rotations (minimum two or three hours a week for each credit hour) with University of Miami Miller School of Medicine physicians to help students prepare for their career.

Students will be rigorously monitored by faculty advisors and present their work at a rotation symposium at the end of the semester. Previous shadowing experiences have included:
  • About 10 to 15 hours/week. Students present their work at a research symposium at the end of each semester and write a detailed abstract.
  • Students work in pairs and can choose from a number of research labs and shadowing slots.
