Health Insurance

Health insurance is required for all students. Health and dental insurance are available at the time of registration. The university has selected Aetna as the provider for students. The university does not endorse or sponsor any dental plan.

Students who are covered by an Aetna insurance policy may waive insurance by completing the waiver form in CaneLink. The insurance company must prove that this policy provides benefits at least equal to those required by the University of Miami. Insurance cancellation must be renewed each fall semester via Canelink.

Ph.D. Students: Note that even though your insurance may be partially or fully covered, you must still register for insurance annually.
