Tuition

As part of the University of Miami’s Miller School of Medicine, the #1 NIH funded institution in Florida and a member of the prestigious Association of American Universities, students gain access to nationally ranked programs and world class research opportunities.

Tuition for the BMB MS program is $53,000 for the 2026–2027 academic year, covering the fall, spring, and summer terms. This fixed rate offers substantial savings compared to traditional UM graduate tuition and remains competitive with specialized STEM master’s programs nationwide.

Tuition reflects current 2026–2027 estimates and is subject to annual updates determined by the university.

Program Awards

Applicants who meet admission criteria and submit their applications by the priority deadline will be considered for a partial tuition award through the BMB MS program. No separate application is necessary.

Office of Financial Assistance

For eligible students needing additional financial support, financial aid is available through federal and private loans. To apply for these loans, students must complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA), which helps determine eligibility and the amount of assistance required. State and institutional aid sources also require a completed FAFSA. For more information on loan opportunities, including options for international students, please visit the Office of Graduate Professional Financial Assistance’s website for additional details.

Health Insurance

Full-time graduate students at the University of Miami are required to have adequate health insurance. The university provides a student health insurance plan through the student health service, with the annual premium added to student fees at the beginning of the academic year. U.S. citizens and permanent residents who already have sufficient health insurance can request a waiver for this fee via CaneLink.

U.S. citizens and permanent residents who have adequate health insurance may request a waiver for the insurance fee.
