Louis Calder Memorial Library

Students have access to both the medical campus and main campus libraries. The following are the maximum lending times for graduate students:

  • Books – one semester
  • DVDs – seven days
  • New Items – fourteen days
  • Reserves – three hours within the library only

Reference books and journals do not circulate. You may place a hold on any item that has been checked out. The item will be held and you will be contacted when it is returned. Access to the audiovisual or historical collections is available 8:00am – 5:00pm, Monday – Friday only. A book return is located on the Library patio for return of materials when the Library is closed.

For requesting items not owned by the library, the Interlibrary Loan Office at 305 243 6749. There is a $2.00 transaction fee for all requests. The library will provide full service photocopy service for $5.00 per article.

Print and Photocopy services are provided by UPrint and require the use of your UM ID card. An annual amount of $100 is automatically allocated to students to offset the cost of printing / copying. Additional funds can be added via CaneExpress. UPrint allows wireless printing, B&W or Color printing and copying as well as free scanning.

Mondays–Thursdays: 7:30am – Midnight
Fridays: 7:30am – 8:00pm
Saturdays: 8:00am – 8:00pm
Sundays: 12pm – Midnight

The libraries are closed for the following holidays: New Year’s Day, Martin Luther King, Junior Day, Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving and December 24-25.
