Calder Library
The medical library is a bit different from your ugrad library. Doctors and students go here to get things done!
- It is a true quiet space. You can hear a dime drop.
- On the main floor there are a bunch of up-to-date computers at your disposal.
- The second floor has tables with comfy Aeron chairs for studying.
- There are even massage chairs and lounges to get a quick nap.
- Printers and copiers are available for student use but try to be GREEN.
Indoor Spaces
Clinical Research Building, Ninth Floor
The CRB has a nice lounge space near the Wellness Center and Pasha’s. It’s very convenient when you want to combine your physical and mental workouts.
Schedule Large Group Meetings
Should you need to organize a sizable meeting, see the staff in OGS to reserve a fitting space.
Outdoor Spaces
One of the advantage of living in South Florida is that you can study outside almost any day of the year!
Research Quadrangle – “The Quad”
The Quad is our nicest outdoor space to hang out, have lunch or group study. If you haven’t found it yet, its the big green expanse between Batchelor, Pope, DRI and PAP. You will find a a beautiful Banyan tree, soothing fountain, benches, and tables. Go ahead, lay down on the grass and study in the sun!
JMH Courtyard
Between Jackson and Park Plaza West, you will find a nice open space with many tables for studying. Its a big more high traffic than the Quad.
Calder Courtyard
Between RMSB, Calder and BRB, you will find benches and tables for studying. It tends to be a bit shaded from the sun in this area.
Bascom Palmer Eye Institute
BPEI has a nice canopied space for lounging and studying near the main entrance. Perfect when you need shelter from the sun or a rainy day.
Hidden Gems
When you match with your permanent mentor, you will gain access to additional spaces to study in the program. There are many corners of campus that you might take a liking to – so go out and explore.
