Application Process
Medical Track
If your goal is to go to medical school, this track is perfect. Core courses cover many of the same topics in biochemistry, molecular and cell biology, and physiology you’d learn as a first-year medical student. Your performance in these courses demonstrates your readiness for medical school. You will shadow physicians and participate in clinical research, and you’ll have an advisor who provides guidance for your medical applications.
Research Track
This track is designed for students excited by biomedical research who want to earn a doctoral degree. Apart from core courses, you choose biostatistics, bioinformatics, and other research-related courses. Lab research with top-notch scientists helps you develop a compelling portfolio for your application to graduate school.
Drug Discovery Track
This track is designed for students interested in a pharmaceutical career and builds on expertise at the University of Miami Miller School of Medicine in drug discovery. Apart from core coursework, you can choose from a variety of research- and drug discovery-related courses. Practical research in translational and screening labs prepares you for the next phase of your life.
