M.S. in Medical Radiation Dosimetry

The University of Miami Miller School of Medicine offers an intensive, JRCERT accredited 12-month Master of Science in Medical Radiation Dosimetry (MiMRD) Program designed to train individuals as medical radiation dosimetrist.

The mission of medical radiation dosimetry is to equip its full-time graduate students with the skills and knowledge to provide excellent medical dosimetry service to the radiotherapeutic practice and to foster students’ curiosity, critical thinking, and creativity so they may contribute to the growth of their field.

The program’s foremost educational objective is to provide clinical, didactic, and research experience consistent with curricular recommendations of the American Association of Medical Radiation Dosimetrists (AAMD) and the Joint Review Committee on Education in Radiologic Technology (JRCERT) so that graduates can work as entry-level medical radiation dosimetrists and pass professional certification examination by the Medical Dosimetrist Certification Board (MDCB).

The program offers the one-year Master of Science in Medical Radiation Dosimetry for students seeking research experience in addition to didactic and clinical training, while the one-year Graduate Certificate in Medical Radiation Dosimetry is offered for students who elect an exclusively didactic and clinical experience.
