Neurology is integrated into the UMMSM NextGenMD curriculum throughout its three phases. During Phase I (Foundations) as a discipline in the Symptoms, Signs, and Diseases course; during Phase II (Clerkships) as a discipline in the Mind, Matter and Medicine Integrated Clerkship, and in Phase III (Pathways and Capstones) with multiple electives, selectives/sub-internships, and pathways.
The phase II and III educational experiences take place throughout the different clinical sites within the Department of Neurology under the faculty and staff supervision.

Neurology Externship
Thank you for your interest in rotating at our school. Our school uses the scheduling program called Visiting Student Application Service (VSAS) sponsored by the Association of American Medical Colleges (AAMC). Medical students in their 4th year enrolled at a U.S. LCME accredited medical school are eligible to apply to one of the phase III rotations.

Neurology Observerships
International students cannot use VSAS. Students interested will need to apply through the International Medicine Institute at University of Miami Miller School of Medicine to one of the phase III rotations.
