Seeking patient care?
Sports Neurology is a relatively new subspecialty of neurology that focuses on the evaluation, treatment, and management of sports-related neurologic injuries, including traumatic brain injuries (TBI) sustained during athletic activities.
A spine neurologist helps care for people with issues such as pinched nerves in the neck or lower back (radiculopathy), spinal cord dysfunction (myelopathy), nerve pain, and muscle weakness or paralysis related to spinal conditions.
They also work closely with patients to guide the rehabilitation, and with Pain Specialists and Spine Surgeons when referral to these is necessary. The right kind of exercise program often helps reduce pain, improve strength and mobility, and prevent further complications over time.
Because spine and nerves are so important for movement and everyday function, spine neurologists play a key role in helping patients maintain independence, mobility, and quality of life.
