The headache program includes clinical as well as didactic training in the diagnosis and comprehensive management of primary and secondary headache disorders, both in adults and children. Upon successful completion of the program, fellows are well prepared and eligible for the UCNS certification.
- Opportunities and Requirements: The University of Miami is one of the largest academic institutions and tertiary referral centers in the country. The infrastructure supports coordinated headache care and translational research. Clinics in the Institute for Advanced Pain Management provide state-of-the-art multidisciplinary clinical support to optimize complex headache conditions. Clinical conferences and multidisciplinary pain meetings provide advanced understanding in primary and secondary headache. Conference attendance and participation are expected, in addition to teaching medical students, residents, and rotating pain fellows. Fellows have the opportunity to gain translational research skills and participate in mentored research. Interested candidates must be eligible to apply for a full Florida Medical license and have trained in an ACGME accredited Neurology Residency program.
