NeuroEndovascular Division

The NeuroEndovascular Division works in collaboration with the Department of Neurosurgery’s Endovascular Surgery physicians to provide comprehensive care and treatment to patients with complex neurovascular diseases, including aneurysms, arteriovenous malformations and others. Our physicians are part of a cerebrovascular team that performs Neuroendovascular procedures such as stent placement for cervical or intracranial arteriosclerotic disease using balloon and stent technology to achieve the most favorable outcomes in the treatment of our patients.

Our NeuroEndovascular service, located at Jackson Memorial Hospital, is the only one in Miami-Dade County equipped with two Neuroangiography suites. There is also three-dimensional imaging available onsite. The cerebrovascular team utilizes cutting edge devices such as the MERCI Clot Retriever, PENUMBRA Stroke System and GDC Coils among others in the treatment of acute stroke. Postoperative patients receive care at one of Jackson Memorial Hospital’s specialized units, the 24-bed neurosurgical intensive care unit or 8-bed stroke unit. We are also conducting NIH sponsored clinical research trials on acute stroke intervention and translational research in the area of intra-cranial and intravenous delivery of stem cell therapy for stroke.
