Our board-certified pediatric neurologists care for children from South Florida and beyond, at a variety of pediatric clinics in Miami-Dade County and South Florida and at Holtz Children’s Hospital in the Jackson Memorial Health System. Here an interdisciplinary team of neurology, neurosurgery, and rehabilitation specialists provide care in a state-of-the-art pediatric facility including an intensive care unit, one of the largest neonatal intensive care units in the nation, and a video EEG telemetry unit. We treat children of all ages, from newborns to young adults.
Our diverse faculty have specialization in multiple areas of Pediatric Neurology, including Neuro-Genetics, currently performing unique gene therapy for those diagnosed with Spinal Muscular Atrophy (SMA), designated as an SMA Treatment Center thru the State of Florida Department of Health Newborn Screening Program (the only program in South Florida), and Duchenne's Muscular Dystrophy; Headache; Neuro-Muscular Disorders; Epilepsy; Neuro-Critical Care; and Muscular Dystrophy Atrophy (MDA).
Our team provides an integrated approach to the care of Autistic patients, including the performing of Comprehensive Diagnostic Evaluations and treatment plan for children with Autistic Spectrum Disorders.
The faculty is also actively involved in research projects studying neuro-genetic disorders and new treatments for headache in children, as well as the teaching of medical students, pediatric and neurology residents and fellows.
