Department of Neurology

The Department of Neurology has had a more than 58 year tradition of conducting state of the art research. Our faculty are engaged in a wide variety of clinical and basic research to understand, prevent and treat neurological disorders. Strong federally funded basic science research programs focus on the pathological mechanisms of neurological disease. The department was ranked 16 in NIH funding in 2020. Our clinical translational research supports new therapeutic approaches.
