Letter from the Director

Comprehensive Center for Brain Health
James E. Galvin M.D., M.P.H.

Each person is unique. Yet, the way we approach brain health and memory is often a “one-size-fits-all” approach. Doing so, fails to take into account an individual’s medical history, life experiences, lifestyle, belief systems, and cultural background.

The Comprehensive Center for Brain Health (CCBH) was created to change this. Here, we provide a personalized approach to brain health and improving the diagnosis, treatment, prevention, and cure for common age-related neurodegenerative diseases such as mild cognitive impairment, Alzheimer’s Disease, Parkinson’s Disease, Lewy Body Dementia, Frontotemporal Degeneration, Vascular Cognitive impairment, and chronic traumatic encephalopathy.

Our center uses a transdisciplinary approach in all of our research projects and clinical care, combining the best practices of neurology, gerontology, nursing, social work, psychotherapy, integrative nutrition, mindfulness, lifestyle modification, physical therapy, falls prevention, public health, medical education, epidemiology, and biostatistics. CCBH prides itself on dedication to our underlying foundational pillars

  • Leading-Edge Research
  • World-Class Clinical Care
  • Exceptional Training Opportunities
  • Innovative Educational Programs
  • Community Outreach

As you explore our website, take time to review the many clinical, research, and educational programs we provide. If you are concerned about your memory or that of a loved one, consider participating in our no-cost research evaluations to provide you the answers you seek. A summary can be provided that you can share with your healthcare provider, or you can see one of our clinicians for follow-up care and management. We offer innovative research programs including longitudinal studies, industry-sponsored clinical trials, innovative investigator-initiated projects, lifestyle interventions such as Tai-Chi, ballroom dancing, or yoga, biomarker development, genetic studies, and much more. We sponsor community seminars to provide important information in clinical care and research advances. You can become part of the CCBH family by joining our auxiliary or, if interested, supporting our research and clinical programs.

I look forward to having the opportunity to meet you at one of our events

Warm regards,
