Comprehensive Center For Brain Health

Improving the brain health of the senior population has been the life's work of James E. Galvin, M.D., MPH, professor of neurology. A board-certified neurologist, he has authored more than 250 scientific publications and textbooks on healthy brain aging, cognitive health, memory loss, Alzheimer’s disease, Lewy Body dementia, and other neurodegenerative disorders.

Dr. Galvin’s research has been funded by the National Institutes of Health, Centers for Disease Control, and numerous private and family foundations. His research group has identified many risk factors for dementia and he has created several novel intervention programs to improve the care of patients with dementia, delay nursing home placement, reduce hospital re-admission, and decrease health care costs.
