The CTRD engages in collaborative translational research and research training, while also providing administrative and research infrastructure to support faculty and their teams conducting clinical translational studies. These efforts span areas from brain and cognitive aging to the prevention and treatment of neurological disorders.
An essential component of the Division is to conduct and support discovery, collaborative research in neurology and rapid translation of discoveries to clinical practice in broad dissemination of impact of our research to the public. CTRD has established multiple collaborations partnerships across departments within our University, with national and international institutions, and with multiple public stakeholders nationwide.
Additionally, the CTRD provides support for translational science process from the development of research concepts and team creation to data management, study design and statistical support for the Department of Neurology. The CTRD consists of several functional units: Data management, biostatistics and epidemiology, regulatory and administrative, stroke registry research unit, sleep disorders research unit, Neurosonology Imaging Core, and Clinical trial unit, Research Training and Educational Core.
