Seeking Patient Care?
The pediatric speech and language pathology training program is for graduate students seeking a Master of Science in Speech and Language Pathology (MS-SLP). Trainees participate in clinical rotations at the Mailman Center for Child Development and the Debbie School. These rotations focus on the communication needs of infants, toddlers, and school-aged children. Trainees learn evaluation administration and report writing skills, evidence-based therapy (including early intervention skills), and augmentative and alternative communication (AAC) training. Trainees gain experience with a variety of neurodevelopmental disorders, including (but not limited to) developmental delays, autism spectrum disorders, intellectual disabilities, and deaf & hard of hearing. Trainees also participate in interdisciplinary clinics, including Cleft-Lip and Palate Clinic, Interdisciplinary Developmental Evaluation Services (IDES) Clinic, and Assistive Technology (AT) Clinic.
Like all trainees at the Mailman Center, SLP trainees participate in the LEND (Leadership Development in Neurodevelopmental Disabilities) curriculum, a federally funded interprofessional training program based on family professional partnerships.
