Mailman Center for Child Development

The Mailman Center offers a variety of training opportunities related to assistive technology service delivery. We offer trainings and workshops, coaching for teachers and parents of young children, videos and device demonstrations, and an online course.

Program Spotlight: Step Up AT

Trainings and Workshops

Through our partnership with the Florida Alliance for Assistive Services and Technology (FAAST) program, Florida’s state AT program, Mailman Center staff can provide in-person and virtual trainings and workshops to small and large groups on a variety of assistive technology topics. Our staff is fully bilingual and can provide the trainings in English and Spanish.

Coaching for Early Childhood Teachers and Parents

In collaboration with the U.S. Department of Education and FAAST, we offer coaching services for early childhood teachers and parents on how to use assistive technology to support young children’s participation in early learning activities through our Step Up AT program.

Online Course: Interdisciplinary Fundamentals in Adaptive and Assistive Technology

This course can serve as a review of assistive technology policies and procedures, service plans, and devices for different needs. It is not directly tied to the updated RESNA certification, but it can help refresh many concepts. It includes topics related to the use and availability of adaptive and assistive technology (AT) as well as service delivery to individuals across the lifespan. The course consists of text, audio, images, and multimedia.
