Wednesday, December 6th, 2023 | 9:30am – 3:45pm

Children who are deaf and hard of hearing (DHH) face a number of challenges across their lifespan that may affect their developmental, social, communication, and educational outcomes. Content and case studies in this workshop will focus on prioritization of specialists’ unique roles and activities, building capacity in regions of various sizes and resource availability, creating a core of specialists and building in tertiary resources for maintaining a sustainable system of supports for children who are DHH.

A dynamic group of presenters from the University of Miami Debbie School, the University of Miami Children’s Hearing Program, and invited speakers from the Resource Materials and Technology Center for the Deaf/Hard of Hearing have collaborated to deliver and facilitate this workshop filled with resources, case studies, discussion, and thought-provoking action planning to improve capacity throughout the state of Florida for optimizing outcomes for children who are DHH.
