Children’s Hearing Program

This multidisciplinary team consists of psychologists, social workers, educational specialists, speech and language pathologists, audiologists, and physicians who work collaboratively to diagnose and treat children with rare conditions, including hearing loss, genetic syndromes, and balance disorders. Trainees will get the unique opportunity to conduct psychoeducational evaluations, consultation liaison, and brief individual and family therapy. Trainees will also assist with pre-surgical counseling, treatment adherence, and co-treatment with the multidisciplinary team. Experience will include working with children and families from birth through adolescence. Primary presenting problems span the full spectrum, including externalizing, internalizing, and medical coping. Research and training in program development are available, but optional. Trainees will also have the opportunity to assist with organizing and participating in family events such as our Halloween Trunk or Treat, Holiday Toy Drive, and Baseball Game Event.
