Mailman Center for Child Development

The Mailman Center for Child Development is an academic center at the University of Miami Miller School of Medicine that addresses concerns of individuals with developmental disabilities and special health care needs across the lifespan through:

  • Research
  • Clinical Service
  • Training
  • Community Engagement
  • Public Policy and Advocacy

We are one of the top 10 programs in the United States for children with neurodevelopmental disabilities and chronic illness. The Mailman Center is housed in a nine-story building with nearly 115,000 square feet of office, clinical, training, conference, and laboratory space and is located on the University of Miami/Jackson Memorial Medical Center campus. We serve over 14,000 children, youths, and their families annually.

The Mailman Center for Child Development is an integral part of the Miller School of Medicine’s Department of Pediatrics. Our extensive research facilities and faculty and staff with a wide range of expertise allow us to fulfill our mission of providing research, training, and services to individuals with disabilities and their families across the lifespan. The staff at the Mailman Center give special care to identifying the concerns and priorities of each individual and family. They work closely with each family to identify which services would best meet all of the individual and family members’ needs.
