The social work training program is for graduate students seeking a clinical placement to complete practicum hours as required in their respective Masters of Social Work programs. Mailman Center field educators supervise interns on the foundation and advanced social work competencies and pediatric social work practices in their respective clinics. The placements vary according to the availability of field educators and the number of candidates referred by the affiliated School of Social Work.

Like all trainees at the Mailman Center, graduate students participate in the LEND (Leadership Development in Neurodevelopmental Disabilities) curriculum, a federally funded interprofessional training program based on family professional partnerships.

Only MSW students from local and on-line Schools of Social Work affiliated with UM are considered for admission.
