Education has been a core priority for our department since its founding in 1958. The department directs a complete range of medical education programs for medical students, residents, fellows, and practicing physicians. All groups benefit from the exceptional clinical learning environments at UHealth and Jackson Memorial Hospitals, which are home to centers of excellence like Bascom Palmer Eye Institute, the Miami Transplant Institute, and Ryder Trauma Center.
Mission
Our mission is to develop outstanding physician anesthesiologists through education at all stages of development. We strive to deliver timely, compassionate, state of the art care that embraces cultural values and respects the needs of our diverse society. Patients are our teachers and we will serve them integrity and empathy. Through research, we promote the investigation of new ideas and creation of knowledge.
