With three ACGME accredited fellowship positions, the mission of the Division of Adult Cardiothoracic Anesthesia is clear; patient care, education and research.
The primary site of fellowship, Jackson Memorial Hospital, is an internationally recognized medical center that has been performing open heart surgery since the late 1950’s. Currently a diverse group of heart, thoracic and vascular surgeons in conjunction with the Division of Adult Cardiothoracic Anesthesia are fulfilling the health systems mission of providing a single, high standard of quality cardiac care for the residents of Miami-Dade County and beyond. The acuity and depth of clinical exposure invariably meet our clinical education goals, and a carefully tailored lecture curriculum solidifies our education mission. A high publication output amongst faculty allots numerous opportunities to fellows to participate in research aimed at advancing all areas of cardiac medicine.
