The Pediatric Anesthesia division provides the perianesthetic care to infants and children at Jackson Memorial Hospital and the nationally renowned Bascom Palmer Eye Institute.
Residents and fellows also care for surgical and critical care patients at the Miami Children’s Hospital.
Jackson Memorial Hospital is a major tertiary care center with one of the nation’s largest neonatal intensive care units. In addition to the anesthetic and analgesic needs of the many pediatric surgery subspecialties, the hospital is also a pediatric transplant referral center, providing pediatric liver, multivisceral and kidney transplant services.
There is also a busy pediatric anesthesia practice at Bascom Palmer Eye Institute. In addition to the anesthesia demand of the nation’s number one ophthalmic center, a variety of other surgical specialties perform pediatric day surgery at BPEI, including the ENT and orthopedic services.
