Fellowship

Solid Organ Transplant and Vascular Anesthesia

The Transplant Anesthesia Fellowship program at University of Miami/Jackson Memorial Hospital, Miami, FL was established in 2007. Since the take-off, the fellowship provided a comprehensive curriculum focusing on the clinical aspects of organ transplantation and research.

The mix of transplant cases provides the fellow with an excellent clinical transplant experience. A well-developed and structured didactic program will systematically review all relevant subject areas associated with transplant medicine, surgery and anesthesia. In addition, research opportunities in transplant anesthesia abound in both the basic and clinical arenas.

The Transplant Anesthesia Fellowship program is a 1-year fellowship training program in anesthesiology, non-ACGME accredited, open to:

A. Board eligible/certified USA anesthesia graduates (with the option of working 2 days/week as paid anesthesiologists while completing fellowship).

B. Qualified International anesthesia graduates.

In accordance with the new UNOS regulation, a 1-year fellowship will achieve sufficient qualifications to become Director of Liver Transplant Anesthesia at major medical centers in US.
