Our program encourages liver transplant anesthesia fellows to participate in ongoing research projects or to initiate at least one new investigation project.
Fellows will complete certification in Human Subjects Training in order to be able to do research. University of Miami currently uses the web-based modules available at the Collaborative Institutional Training Initiative (CITI) website for certification in Human Subjects Training. University of Miami’s Electronic Protocol Submission and Tracking system (eProst) is used to submit human subjects research IRB protocols online.
Fellows will learn to use statistical computer software (JMP software from SAS) and create/maintain database system.
Fellows are expected to complete submission of a manuscript for peer-review and eventual publication. Research work will be presented at the Department of Anesthesia Grand Rounds.
