Residents may elect to enter a six-month research training rotation with approval from administration and the Vice Chair for Research. Typically, residents who enter this pathway are preparing for subspecialty academic careers. They will receive mentored research training in an area of their choosing, most commonly in pain medicine, regional anesthesia, informatics, or patient safety.
The department sponsors travel expenses for research residents with active participation in national scientific meetings.
