Solid Organ Transplant and Vascular Anesthesia

Fellows will be provided several lecture series, weekly anesthesia morbidity and mortality conference, journal club, case presentation etc. The goal is that the fellows will acquire comprehensive knowledge about the pathophysiology of donor and recipient disease in order to provide appropriate and effective care

The liver transplant anesthesia fellow will have the possibility to attend the weekly echo conference with the anesthesia cardiac team and to attend TEE simulation lab. The fellow will be encouraged to attend a basic TEE CME meeting for non-cardiac anesthesia and pursue the Certification in Basic Perioperative Transesophageal Echocardiography.

During the fellowship, the fellow is expected to attend the “Perioperative Care in Liver Transplantation” meeting that is held yearly in October at the American Society of Anesthesiology.
