University of Miami Annual Pathology Conference

The 2022 University of Miami Annual Pathology Conference presented a practical overview in many areas of pathology and laboratory medicine and was designed to provide stimulating, up-to-date reviews on topics of critical interest to both academic and community pathologists. The course emphasized knowledge and competency gains in morphologic recognition and use of ancillary immunohistochemistry and molecular genetic studies in the most challenging areas, particularly new disease classification and diagnostic criteria. Utilizing virtual technology, the most recent updates in the areas of bone and soft tissue, breast, cytopathology, hematopathology, gastrointestinal, genitourinary, gynecologic, head and neck, and thoracic surgical pathology were presented. Although meeting virtually, our program delivered an immersive and engaging conference experience in an online environment offering the same learning and knowledge sharing as a traditional in-person conference to geographically dispersed participants. This five-day virtual course featured didactic multidisciplinary lectures, case presentations, and live interactive question and answer sessions with faculty. In addition, all the educational lectures and each day’s complete webinar, including the live question and answer sessions, were recorded and hosted on a virtual platform available to meeting participants to view at their leisure for 30 days after the conclusion of the course.
