The University of Miami Department of Pathology & Laboratory Medicine offers interested US and International physicians and scientists the opportunity to spend up to 3 months in an Observer Program designed to allow visitors to shadow our faculty in various academic departmental activities, including daily sign-outs, educational conferences, and collaborative non-clinical research.
Application Process
To be considered for the program, applicants must:
- Possess strong English-language skills.
- Be responsible for obtaining your own Visa and living accommodations.
- Obtain a letter of reference from your current employer or academic institution.
- Submit completed application with all required documentation and application fee.

- Copy of Passport
- Copy of Visa
- Proof of immunization
- Certified copy of medical school diploma
- Certified copy of USMLE scores
- Observer Application Form
- Completed Elective Program Form
- Completed HIPAA form
