Pathology & Laboratory Medicine
The elective in Pathology & Laboratory Medicine is intended to generate interest in those students who have never been exposed to the practice of Pathology & Laboratory Medicine, and/or solidify a commitment to the profession in those who are interested in pursuing post-graduate training in a Pathology & Laboratory Medicine residency training program.

It is our intention to make this educational program one of the most valuable, exciting, and rewarding experiences during your enrollment in medical school.

The elective in Pathology & Laboratory Medicine may be taken as a two-or four-week rotation. The elective is structured around  one-week  blocks  in  any  one  of  the  following  disciplines:  Surgical  Pathology, Hematopathology,  Microbiology,  Immunopathology,  Cytopathology,  Transfusion  Medicine, Autopsy Pathology and Clinical Chemistry. The students are evaluated by each attending from the chosen discipline. We trust that this educational program in Pathology & Laboratory Medicine prepares you well for the practice of medicine.
