Frederick Williams, MD, FACP completed his medical degree at the University of South Florida and Internal Medicine Residency at the George Washington University in Washington, DC. With over 30 years of experience in graduate medical education, Dr. Williams joined the UM faculty in 2009 as the program director at the newly opened University of Miami, Palm Beach GME Consortium Internal Medicine Residency. In February 2017 he moved into the role of program director at Holy Cross and has also assumed the role of Assistant Director of Graduate Medical Education and Designated Institutional Official. He transitioned out of the role of Internal Medicine Program Director in 2023, but continues as the Designated Institutional Official and Program Director for the Transitional Year Residency Program.
He is clinically active in general internal medicine supervising and teaching medical residents and students in both the inpatient and outpatient settings. His interests include adult learning theory and curriculum design for medical education, healthcare for special populations, and quality improvement.
Dr. Williams was born and raised in New England, but now enjoys the lifestyle and weather of the Ft Lauderdale area.
