Nemer Dabage-Forzoli, M.D., FACP

Program Director

Dr. Dabage earned his medical degree from University of the North in Barranquilla, Colombia. He did bench research in Canada on biochemistry/molecular biology and signal transduction. He moved to the US for this his residency training in SUNY Brooklyn in internal medicine. He initially started his career in the private sector in El Centro, California. He moved to Florida in 2008 and discovered his true passion in graduate medical education becoming associate internal medicine residency program director at Cleveland Clinic Florida at Weston from 2008-2015. He moved to the west coast of Florida to establish the internal medicine residency program at Blake Medical Center in Bradenton where his 3-year ABIM passing score was no lower than 97%. In 2020 he founded the IM and transitional residency program at Broward Health North locally in Deerfield Beach. He joined the University of Miami at Holy Cross program in January of 2023.  Dr. Dabage leads the board review preparation sessions, he has multiple publications and poster presentations with his residents. He has held several academic titles including assistant professor at FIU, FAU, USF, and clinical associate professor at Nova Southeastern University.
On a more personal basis, he has been married for 32 years to Clara and has 3 grown daughters Suzanne (a recent Georgetown Law graduate), Alexandra (recent magna cum laude graduate now doing her master’s in Barcelona) and Isabella an FSU sophomore. His family also includes two yorkies, Luna and Mimi.

Dr. German Giese is a board-certified Internal Medicine physician. He graduated summa cum laude from the University of Buenos Aires (Argentina) in 2004. Dr. Giese completed a residency in Internal Medicine at John H. Stroger Hospital in Chicago and after that he joined the University of Miami as Assistant Professor of Medicine until 2017. Since then, he held positions as Associate Program Director at other institutions in South Florida and joined the University of Miami/Holy Cross team in 2020 in the role of Associate Program Director of Internal Medicine and Director of the Quality and Safety Program for GME. Dr. Giese is also a graduate of the Intermountain Advanced Training Program in Utah, an institution that pioneered the science of quality in healthcare delivery in the United States.


Since his graduation from medical school, Dr. Giese has been continuously involved in medical education, directly teaching and mentoring a large number of residents and medical students from several medical schools in the Florida area (University of Miami, Florida International University, Florida Atlantic University and Nova Southeastern College of Medicine). Dr. Giese’s main areas of academic interest include medical decision-making and quality improvement in healthcare delivery. For several years, he has been leading resident reports, Patient Safety Conferences and Journal Club conferences. Dr. Giese is the founder and Director of the Quality, Safety and Thinking Program (QSaT) a simulation-based training program in critical thinking applied to quality improvement, patient safety and medical decision-making. Over the last years he has led residents and medical students as well as provided advice to institutional leadership in several Quality Improvement projects in many different specialties.
Dr. Giese lives in South Miami with his wife Agustina and his 2 daughters, Amanda and Julia; he loves playing tennis, Argentinian barbecue and soccer (he would like to remind everybody here that they are the current World champions).

Anita Sikha, M.D., FACP

Associate Program Director

Anita Sikha graduated with a Bachelor of Medicine and Surgery (MBBS) from Indira Gandhi Medical College, India. She moved to the United States and completed her Internal Medicine Residency at McLaren Regional Medical Center in Michigan State University. Once her residency concluded, she began her professional career at the Memorial Healthcare System. During her 17 year tenure, she received hands-on experience in both inpatient and outpatient services. Driven by her passion for shaping the new generation of physicians, Dr. Sikha joined the University of Miami as the Associate Program Director for Internal Medicine. In this role, she plays an active role in determining the curriculum, overseeing resident training, and fostering a collaborative learning environment. Her commitment to patient care remains strong as a primary care physician, prioritizing effective communication and evidence-based treatment plans.
Beyond medicine, Dr. Sikha currently resides in Davie with her husband, Srinivas, and two sons, Nikhil and Akhil. Finding balance and support in their presence, she also enjoys reading, exploring nature, and traveling.
