Welcome to the University of Miami at Holy Cross General Surgery Residency Program. We are very excited to be recruiting for our Class of 2032 this academic year.
Our program combines the academic resources, expertise, and educational excellence of the University of Miami Miller School of Medicine with the patient-centered training environment of Holy Cross Hospital. Alongside the Internal Medicine and Transitional Year Residency Programs, the Holy Cross campus of the University of Miami Graduate Medical Education Programs offers a unique learning experience that blends the strengths of academic medicine with the personalized atmosphere of a community-based teaching hospital. Residents work alongside experienced surgeons and multidisciplinary healthcare professionals while caring for a diverse patient population in beautiful Fort Lauderdale, Florida.
Residents receive comprehensive training in the core principles of general surgery while gaining exposure to advanced minimally invasive, laparoscopic, and robotic surgical techniques. Rotations at the renowned Ryder Trauma Center and Burn Unit at Jackson Memorial Hospital, as well as Nicklaus Children's Hospital, provide additional opportunities to experience high-acuity care, trauma surgery, burn management, and pediatric surgery, creating a well-rounded surgical education.
