Program Director

Anita Sikha graduated with a Bachelor of Medicine and Surgery (MBBS) from Indira Gandhi Medical College, India. She moved to the United States and completed her Internal Medicine Residency at McLaren Regional Medical Center in Michigan State University. Once her residency concluded, she began her professional career at the Memorial Healthcare System. During her 20-year tenure, she received hands-on experience in both inpatient and outpatient services. Driven by her passion for shaping the new generation of physicians, Dr. Sikha first joined the University of Miami as the Associate Program Director for Internal Medicine. Now as the Program Director for the Transitional Year residency program and one of the APDs for the Internal Medicine residency program, she plays an active role in determining the curriculum, overseeing resident training, and fostering a collaborative learning environment. Her commitment to patient care remains strong as a primary care physician, prioritizing effective communication and evidence-based treatment plans.

Beyond medicine, Dr. Sikha currently resides in Davie with her husband, Srinivas, and two sons, Nikhil and Akhil. Finding balance and support in their presence, she also enjoys reading, exploring nature, and traveling.
