The Carmen Fuente Ortho Residency Education Fund

Department of Orthopaedics

We ask you to join us in recognizing a dear friend and respected mentor as we celebrate a significant milestone in the history of our Department. After 50 years of service, Carmen Fuente has retired as Director of Orthopaedic Education. She has been a phenomenal leader for the residency program, helping to chart a course of growth and improvement that has resulted in national recognition for our program.

Carmen Fuente sitting in an officeCarmen left an indelible mark on all of us; however, words will never capture the true impact she has made in our medical careers and lives. To ensure Carmen’s legacy is properly recognized and forever remembered, one of our alumni made a very generous contribution to establish The Carmen J. Fuente Orthopaedic Residency Education Fund. This new fund will exclusively support residency education to ensure future trainees are given the opportunity to travel to conferences and enrich their academic experience.

We invite you to consider joining our fellow alumni who have made generous commitments to this meaningful campaign. With your support, we will ensure Carmen’s achievements will forever be synonymous with future excellence in orthopaedic education at the University of Miami.

If you have any questions, our Department’s philanthropy officer Josh Tessier can be reached at j.tessier@med.miami.edu. If you are interested in making a contribution through your estate, Josh can discuss a host of options that are available to make a gift toward the Carmen Fund.

Thank you for your thoughtful consideration.
