The University of Miami medical campus is in a centralized location adjacent to downtown Miami. This location allows for many excellent and accessible options in which to live, including downtown Miami, Miami Beach, Brickell, Coconut Grove, and Coral Gables.
Fellows have no on-call responsibility, allowing them to focus solely on their oncologic practice, research, and professional development. The University of Miami is near Miami International Airport and Ft. Lauderdale international Airport, making both U.S. and international travel convenient.
The Department of Orthopedic Surgery has additional fellows in spine, sports, hand, and trauma in addition to 35 orthopaedic residents. The resident program has a great culture, with residents working as a team, supporting their colleagues inside the hospital and out.
