Aneesh was born and raised in Silicon Valley, California. He graduated from The King's Academy high school as valedictorian of his class. He was accepted into the competitive Seven Year Accelerated BA/MD Program at Boston University School of Medicine where students are selected from high school to complete their undergraduate degree in 3 years with guaranteed admission into medical school. He received the Dean Eleanor Tyler Memorial Award given to the outstanding graduating medical student in the BA/MD program. He was also inducted into the prestigious Alpha Omega Alpha (AOA) Honor Society for demonstrating high educational achievement, gifted teaching, leadership in academia and the community, humanism, and service.
Since undergrad, Aneesh has conducted research in pediatric orthopaedics with a focus on Cerebral Palsy at Boston Children's Hospital under the guidance of Dr. Benjamin Shore. During his time in medical school, he was involved in arthroplasty, hand, and trauma research with the orthopaedic faculty at Boston Medical Center and was fortunate to publish and complete his trauma sub-internship under the mentorship of Dr. Paul Tornetta. Prior to starting residency, Aneesh had over 10 PubMed indexed publications, 12 posters, and 8 podium presentations.
He has a passion for teaching and conducted classes centered on anatomy, physiology, and public health. Aneesh was a teaching volunteer for Special Olympics and Autism Friendly Initiative. He provides guidance to medical students for USMLE and research projects.
Aneesh is proud to be an Orthopaedic Surgery Resident at University of Miami/ Jackson Memorial Hospital for its renowned extensive operative experience, broad spectrum of pathology, diverse patient population, robust research, and strong camaraderie. In his free time, he enjoys swimming, basketball, rowing, longboarding, learning guitar, and golf.
