The Thoracic Pathology Service provides cutting-edge patient care services with respect to the diagnosis and management of lung cancer, pleural and mediastinal tumors, and interstitial lung disease.

The Thoracic Pathology Service works closely with the many hospitals and clinics in the greater Miami region including those affiliated with Jackson Health System, Sylvester Comprehensive Cancer Center, and the University of Miami. The service also maintains an active and robust national and international consultation service with respect to the diagnosis of neoplastic and non-neoplastic thoracic diseases. Our subspeciality also serves as a teaching hub for oncology fellows, pulmonary and cardiothoracic fellows, surgery residents, and international observers.

Biography: Dr. Poveda is a board certified Hematopathologist with expertise in the diagnosis of lymphoid and myeloid neoplasms through a multiparameter approach. His interest include gastrointestinal lymphomas, virally associated B cell lymphoproliferative neoplasms, Hodgkin lymphomas and T/NK cell lymphomas.
