  Dr. Jaylou Velez-Torres is a Clinical Assistant Professor who also serves as the Associate Program Director of Head & Neck Pathology Fellowship Training Program. She received her M.D. degree from the University of Puerto Rico and completed her residency training in anatomic and clinical pathology at the University of Miami/ Jackson Memorial Hospital; followed by two fellowships in Head & Neck Pathology and Cytopathology. Dr. Velez-Torres is boarded in Anatomic and Clinical Pathology and in Cytopathology.

  Her primary clinical and research interests are mesenchymal neoplasms of the head and neck, cytopathology of salivary gland neoplasms and thyroid neoplasms. She has several publications in peer reviewed journals, involved in writing book chapters, and has given cytology lectures in a national course.
