The Immunohistochemistry Laboratory is the technical hub for the department serving all the needs of the subspeciality services. The laboratory is a CAP-certified and CLIA licensed provider of high-quality immunohistochemistry (IHC) and in situ hybridization (ISH) assays performed in both clinical and research settings.
The lab offers over 300 clinically validated antibodies/probes and provides IHC/ ISH services on a wide array of human and animal tissues including formalin-fixed, paraffin-embedded tissues, tissues fixed in molecular-friendly fixation solutions, previously stained and unstained cytology smears and cytospins, and cytology cells blocks.
The Immunohistochemistry Laboratory strives for excellence in quality of technical performance and rapid turnaround time. Our goals are to provide technically sound immunophenotyping in clinical and research samples and to foster meaningful collaborations with our clinical and research colleges. The laboratory is led by Dr. Jennifer Chapman a board-certified academic hematopathologist whose clinical focus is on clinicopathologic and genetic characterization of hematopoietic neoplasms within a clinically complex and academically-oriented cancer center. Dr. Chapmanās research efforts reflect her clinical practice and are largely focused on the identification of the genetic basis of disease in lymphomagenesis, particularly in the context of viral-related lymphomas, and identification of useful diagnostic and prognostic markers of disease.
