Gynecologic Pathology is one of the busiest diagnostic pathology services which is reflective of our active oncology surgical services form Jackson Memorial Hospital, Sylvester Comprehensive Cancer Center and the University of Miami Hospital and Clinics.

Our board-certified surgical pathologists with special interest and expertise in gynecologic pathology offer complete services to all patients referred to our medical center. Dr. Andre Pinto serves as Director of Gynecologic Pathology, Director of the Breast and Gynecologic pathology fellowship program, and Director of Anatomic Pathology Operations. His main research interest includes morphologic features and diagnostic/prognostic biomarkers of gynecologic malignancies with a focus in mesenchymal neoplasms.

The Gynecologic Pathology subspecialty offers diagnostic and consultative services for ovarian, uterine, and cervical cancers as well as benign and preneoplastic conditions of the female genital tract. In addition to routine histology services, our laboratory specializes in immunohistochemistry and molecular diagnostic and prognostic assays.

The Department of Pathology & Laboratory Medicine offers a Fellowship in Breast & GYN Pathology.
