Department of Radiology

The Neuroradiology Section is staffed by six dedicated board-certified diagnostic neuroradiologists. The section is based at both Jackson Memorial Hospital and the University of Miami Hospital & Clinics/Sylvester Comprehensive Cancer Center.

Mission

The mission of the Neuroradiology section is to provide the best possible imaging service for our patients through the judicious application of imaging technology. We are committed to scientific research and to the education of medical students, residents and fellows.

Services Provided

The Neuroradiology section of the University of Miami Department of Radiology provides a full complement of advanced neuroimaging techniques.

Areas of Expertise

Special expertise is provided by attendings in head and neck imaging, stroke imaging, pediatric neuroradiology, functional neuroradiology, magnetic resonance imaging, MR spectroscopy, CNS trauma, spine diagnosis and intervention and neurodiagnostic and neurointerventional angiography.

Resources

The following resources are available throughout our campus:

  • 11 CT machines, including two 128 dual source state of the art CT, 64 slice CT machines and 3 portable CT units
  • 5 MR machines, including one 3T unit and four 1.5T units
