Abdominal Imaging

Department of Radiology

Welcome to the University of Miami Miller School of Medicine’s Abdominal Imaging Section! Our section, a division of the Department of Radiology, consists of eight University of Miami faculty attending radiologists. We typically have five radiology residents rotating through our service. We also have one to two abdominal imaging and one to two oncologic imaging fellows in our section every year.

Mission

Our mission is to provide excellent clinical service, teaching, and research related to the medical imaging of diseases involving the abdomen and pelvis.

Services

The Abdominal Imaging section provides diagnostic imaging services utilizing radiography, fluoroscopy, ultrasound, computed tomography, and magnetic resonance imaging.

Expertise

We specialize in the imaging of diseases of a vast array of conditions involving the abdomen, including but not limited to the gastrointestinal tract, the hepatobiliary system and pancreas, the prostate and the functional pelvic diseases.

  • Abdominal X-Rays
  • Fluoroscopy
  • Ultrasound (US)
  • Computed Tomography (CT) - Multiple multislice CT scanner, including 256, 128, and 64 slice scanners as well as dual energy CT scanner
  • Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) - Multiple 3T and 1.5T scanners with availability of advanced techniques including MR angiography and MR elastography.
