ER/Trauma and Acute Care Radiology

The ER/Trauma and Acute Care Radiology Division at JMH/UM offers state of the art diagnostic imaging for ED patients. The division is staffed by twelve full time attendings radiologists. Nearly all of our radiology specialists are fellowship trained in a radiology subspecialty including ER, Neuro, Body, nuclear medicine, MSK, or MRI.  In addition to our attendings, our team also consists of two ER/Trauma fellows each year.

Mission

Our mission is to provide rapid, comprehensive and expert diagnostic imaging for acutely ill and traumatized patients at the world-renowned Ryder Trauma Center while providing the best education and training to our medical students, residents and fellows. In addition to the Ryder Trauma Center, we also serve the Jackson Memorial Hospital emergency department, UHealth Tower Hospital emergency department and provide afterhours coverage at other JMH/UM facilities.

Services

The ER/Trauma radiology section provides round-the-clock diagnostic imaging services utilizing radiography, computed tomography, ultrasound, fluoroscopy, and magnetic resonance imaging.

Expertise

Our staff specializes in numerous emergent conditions including blunt and penetration trauma, acute stroke imaging, pediatric trauma and surgical emergencies.

  • Computed Tomography (CT) - Multiple multislice CT scanner, including 256, 128, and 64 slice scanners as well as dual energy CT scanner
