Welcome to the University of Miami Miller School of Medicine’s Musculoskeletal Imaging Division! Our division of the Department of Radiology consists of four full-time University of Miami faculty attending radiologists. Faculty members handle the full gamut of imaging as well as many diagnostic and therapeutic procedures related to the musculoskeletal system.

Mission

  • To provide musculoskeletal imaging services that are timely, cost effective, appropriate and of the highest quality for our patients.
  • To train and educate healthcare professionals including medical students, residents, faculty and staff.
  • To contribute to the growth and mission of the University of Miami/Jackson Memorial Hospital Health systems.

Services

The Musculoskeletal Radiology Section provides interpretation of all imaging related to the musculoskeletal system. These include radiography, fluoroscopy, magnetic resonance imaging, computed tomography and musculoskeletal ultrasound.

The section also offers diagnostic and therapeutic procedures of the musculoskeletal system under ultrasound, CT, and fluoroscopic guidance. Procedures include arthrography and arthrocentesis, tenography, treatment of calcific tendinopathy, ganglion cyst aspiration, therapeutic and diagnostic joint injection and aspiration, peripheral nerve blocks, bone and soft tissue tumor biopsy, tumor ablation.

Expertise

We specialize in the imaging of diseases of a vast array of conditions involving the musculoskeletal system, including but not limited to sports medicine, oncology, joint replacements, rheumatology, trauma and minimally invasive interventions.

  • Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) - Multiple 3T and 1.5T scanners with availability of advanced techniques including MR angiography and MR elastography.
