Welcome to the University of Miami Miller School of Medicine’s Cardiothoracic Imaging Section! Our section, a division of the Department of Radiology, consists of four University of Miami faculty attending radiologists. We typically have three to four radiology residents rotating through our service, and one resident dedicated to Cardiac imaging. We also have a Cardiothoracic Imaging fellowship, with one fellow per year.
Mission
Our mission is to provide excellent clinical service, teaching, and research related to cardiothoracic disease.
Services
The Cardiothoracic Imaging section provides diagnostic imaging services utilizing chest radiography, CT, and MR imaging modalities.

We specialize in the imaging of diseases of the heart, lungs, great vessels, and chest wall.
Modalities
- Chest radiography
- Computed Tomography (CT) - including state of the art 320, dual energy CT scan, as well as 256, 128, and 64 slice scanners
- Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) - Multiple 3T and 1.5T scanners with advanced cardiac imaging capabilities
