Infectious Diseases

Our division leads innovative outreach initiatives to proactively address populations affected by high rates of infections. By working with community partners and the State of Florida, faculty in the Infectious Diseases Division have established new models for infectious diseases prevention and care.

SUD/Syringe Exchange

Our state-recognized injection drug related community programs reach marginalized populations highly affected by HIV and substance use disorders. By meeting people where they are, infections related to injection drug use and new HIV outbreaks can be greatly reduced.

R.A.P.I.D. Program

R.A.P.I.D. has made accessible, barrier lowering infectious diseases prevention possible with innovative, free clinical care. Whether seeking pre-exposure prophylaxis (PrEP), post-exposure prophylaxis (nPEP), or gender-affirming care, R.A.P.I.D. provides tailored services to people living in South Florida.

HIV Treatment

The Test and Treat Rapid Response Program was founded to provide rapid linkage to HIV treatment with our trusted clinical team specialized in HIV/AIDS patient care. Since 2016 this program has maintained a 90% retention rate.
